The meaning of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever wishes to be expanded in his provision and lengthened in his lifespan, let him maintain the ties of kinship."

The Shaykh : We discussed the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) up to his saying: .
We raised an issue regarding the provision, then we attempted to resolve it. The issue is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): .
And we asked whether that means the lifespan is extended, or what?
So we said: No, the lifespan is fixed, and the person who has been decreed to die at a specific time does not exceed it nor fall short of it. But if this man has maintained the ties of kinship, then it was written in the original record, what? That he is one who maintains ties and that his lifespan is extended.
So what is the benefit of the saying of the Messenger: ? We said the benefit is: encouraging people to maintain the ties of kinship, so that this is written for him, like other causes whose effects follow them, which are mentioned to the person so that he performs them in order to obtain the result and the fruit.
