Feeding in place of fasting for a person with a chronic illness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: What is obligatory for one who broke his fast for several days of Ramadan for a valid religious excuse, and two years have passed without him making them up? And if the person does not have the ability to feed people, what is required of him besides that?

Answer: Whoever has missed days of Ramadan to make up, it is obligatory for him to make them up before the next Ramadan enters. If the next Ramadan enters and he has not made them up without an excuse preventing him from making them up, but rather this was due to negligence, then it is obligatory for him to feed one poor person for each day for the delay, in addition to making up the fasts. That is, he must make up the days he owes, no matter how long the time has passed, for making them up is obligatory upon him. And he must also feed one poor person for each day for the delay, until the next Ramadan enters, and he is not excused for this delay.
And if he is unable to feed people at the present time, it remains a debt in his conscience to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) until he feeds them.

Answer: If you are unable to fast, neither in its proper time nor as a make-up, due to a chronic illness,The doctors said: and fasting is difficult for you, or fasting is burdensome for you with an unbearable hardship, or it increases the illness and worsens it, then it is obligatory for you to feed one poor person for each day of it. And this suffices in place of fasting. If Allah heals you afterwards and you are able, then you make up what was missed. And if this continues, then feeding suffices, that you feed one poor person for each day. And its amount is half a sa' of wheat or other, according to the number of days. And Allah knows best.
