The questioner : I do not know about the authenticity of the hadith that 'Ali was one who passed pre-seminal fluid, or "I was a man who passed pre-seminal fluid"; I do not know about the authenticity of the hadith?

The Shaykh : Yes, what is the complete hadith? Or even just the meaning.

The questioner : It is by meaning.

The Shaykh : Yes, what is its completion? What is it?

The questioner : It means that he asked the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and he indicated to him that he should sprinkle water . . .

The Shaykh : On the private parts, correct?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Okay, but you are observing here that the question is about the ruling for a man with a specific nature, which is that he passed a lot of pre-seminal fluid; so he was one who passed pre-seminal fluid, until it came in some narrations of the hadith that his back cracked from the amount of water he used to pour on his body, so the Messenger (peace be upon him) indicated to him that sprinkling water was sufficient for him. So, the sprinkling here is undoubtedly an indication that pre-seminal fluid is ritually impure, but it is sufficient for this type of person who is afflicted with excessive pre-seminal fluid, by way of concession, that he sprinkles water. As for the original ruling; it is the full ritual bath.
