The questioner : Praise be to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. As for what follows: For a period of time, I have been performing ruqyah on others using the lawful ruqyah mentioned in the hadith. I do not know the degree of authenticity of the hadith, which is the hadith of Abu al-Dahma ibn Ka'b . So, for a long time, I have been performing this ruqyah. One day, I performed ruqyah on a young man, and he spoke through his mouth, saying, "I have no involvement, I have no involvement." In short, to summarize the matter, because the situation lasted several days, about four days. So, he spoke in the usual way I had been doing before. I asked him, "What is your name? Who are you? Why did you enter? Do you work with a sorcerer or not?" and so on. He said, "I work with a sorcerer, and the sorcerer is so-and-so, and so-and-so who went to the sorcerer," and so on. At the end, he said, "I became a Muslim yesterday when I first came to you. I want to serve." I said to him, "What service do you want to offer?" He said, "I serve the Muslims, just call me and I will come," according to the name he gave himself. I said to him, "Oh, by Allah, instead of saying 'O Allah,' I will say 'O Servant of Allah.'" He said, "I do not intend that; that is not it. Go away from me. Whoever brought you will bring someone else, and someone else besides them," and so on. Yes, so he said, "Then do not call me if that involves shirk. Instead, take the siwak and use it five times, and I will be present with you." I said to him, "Oh, by Allah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that the siwak is a recommended practice with no limit on the number of times, and so on. Am I to commit shirk with this action? I do not accept that. If you want to serve, go away from me and serve in the way you see fit." The summary of the conversation is that he said, "I want to sit with you to learn the rules of tajwid." I said, "I do not accept all of this, but leave and go out. I do not command you except to go out, to fear Allah, and to leave this man... the oppression," and so on. He said, "I am unable to go out until..." It was late at night, and it was a freezing night. So we waited until morning. By experience, I know that sorcery... naturally, if he had been truthful in his Islam, he would have gone out, but he was not truthful in his Islam, and that is what I know. The point of the matter is that we waited until morning until we went to the place of sorcery he indicated. The young men dug... and found nothing. At the end of the story, I said, "You must go out." He said, "I am unable to go out." I said to him, "Go out, or I will kill you or burn you," and I swore by Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that he should go out of him, or I would burn him. He said, "I am unable to go out." He tried to go out about ten times. I recited Surat Yasin over him so that he would gather himself. The point is that in the end, I did not find a solution for this method. I do not know its degree of authenticity; you taught it to us.
A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with blood dripping from his nostrils. So he sat him in front of him and placed his hand on his head and recited these verses, which are al-Fatihah and the beginning of al-Baqarah... the Verse of the Throne, the end of al-Baqarah, and the verse "And Allah testifies that there is no god but He," verse 54 of Surat al-A'raf, and the end of al-Mu'minun and the first ten verses of al-Saffat and two verses from al-Rahman and the beginning of Surat... and the end of al-Hashr, and at the end, the two Mu'awwidhat. It is said that the man stood up as if he had never complained before.
