Is the hadith regarding the cast valid? And if it is weak, what does the person with the cast do?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is the hadith regarding wiping over the cast valid or not? And if it is weak, what does the person with the cast do?

The Shaykh : The hadith regarding the cast is not valid. As long as that is the case, he does what he is able of what Allah has commanded him. If there is a limb that has been bound with a bandage for a wound or a fracture or the like, he washes all the limbs that are obligatory to wash or purify in the ablution, and what is other than that is excused. As for the man who has had a limb of the ablution cut off and
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
, but if wiping over the cast were valid, it would be necessary to follow that, otherwise not.
