Warning Against Issuing Fatwas Without Knowledge

The Shaykh : You are afraid of his anger if you anger him because you opposed the Shari'ah that I am explaining to you, but when he opposes the Shari'ah, do not care about him. We must guide them, not just convey our words and deeds to them. And on this occasion, I will explain to you a very serious hadith regarding scholars who say what they do not do. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, and this hadith is in "Sahih al-Bukhari," not one of your hadiths whose value I do not know, you lost your money!!
Now, Imam al-Bukhari narrates in his "Sahih" from the hadith of Usamah ibn Zayd, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:. Is it the scholar or the ignorant one?
Those present : It is the scholar.
The Shaykh : Look at what happens to him?
Sahih Muslim 2989a .
The questioner : Head first?
The Shaykh : He is thrown into the Fire head first. His intestines come out, the people of the Fire are astonished; . This scholar has no value with Allah, he is not worth the wing of a gnat with Allah; therefore, the people of knowledge say:
"And a scholar who did not act upon his knowledge ** is tormented before the worshippers of idols"
And in another hadith in "Sahih Muslim" from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: - is ignited - . . These people should be in the highest ranks, and lo, they become in the Fire before everything!! ; there is no one like a scholar!! . That means you were teaching people not for My pleasure, but for your fame and the spread of your reputation among people so that people would say: So-and-so is a scholar, and you achieved what you wanted; people have said about you: scholar, so you have taken your reward; so take your punishment today [Ash-Shu'ara 26:88-89], this scholar did not come to Allah with a sound heart, but he came to Allah with a heart full of what? Showing off, love of appearing, and good reputation, , this scholar.
Scholar.
Those present : Mujahid.
The Shaykh : Excuse me, you also took your reward in this world, so-and-so is a mujahid, so-and-so is a hero, .
The point is that distinction with Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is not based on what appears through mere knowledge or status or the like, but rather through competing in righteous deeds with Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
Now, Imam al-Bukhari narrates in his "Sahih" from the hadith of Usamah ibn Zayd, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
The scholar will be brought on the Day of Resurrection
Those present : It is the scholar.
The Shaykh : Look at what happens to him?
A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown in Hell-Fire
The questioner : Head first?
The Shaykh : He is thrown into the Fire head first.
His intestines will come out
And he will turn in the Fire as a donkey turns in a mill, and the people of the Fire will circle around him
They will see him and remember him, and they will say: O so-and-so, were you not the one who used to enjoin good upon us and forbid evil? He will say: Yes; I used to enjoin good upon you but I did not do it, and I used to forbid you from evil but I did it
And a scholar who did not act upon his knowledge ** is tormented before the worshippers of idols"
And in another hadith in "Sahih Muslim" from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
The first ones for whom the Fire will be ignited
The first ones for whom the Fire will be ignited on the Day of Resurrection are three: a scholar, a mujahid, and a rich man
The first ones for whom the Fire will be ignited on the Day of Resurrection are three: a scholar, a mujahid, and a rich man; the scholar will be brought and it will be said to him: O My servant, what did you do with what you knew? He will say: O my Lord, I spread it among people for Your sake. It will be said to him: You lied; you only taught so that people would say: So-and-so is a scholar
And it will be said: Take him to the Fire
(88) The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children (89) But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart."
It has been said: Take him to the Fire
Then the mujahid will be brought, and it will be said to him: What did you do with the strength I gave you? He will say: O my Lord, I fought in Your path. It will be said to him: You lied, you only fought so that people would say: So-and-so
Those present : Mujahid.
The Shaykh : Excuse me,
So-and-so is a mujahid, and it has been said.
Take him to the Fire. Then the wealthy man is brought, and it is said to him: O so-and-so, what did you do with the wealth I bestowed upon you? He says: O my Lord, I distributed it and spent it in Your cause. It is said to him: You lied; you only did it so that people would say, 'So-and-so is generous.' And that has already been said. Take him to the Fire.
The point is that distinction with Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is not based on what appears through mere knowledge or status or the like, but rather through competing in righteous deeds with Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
