The Response to Those Who Claim That Calling to the Book and the Sunnah Divides People
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Therefore, we have a lesson in such a Prophetic text regarding some people who take offense at us, claiming that our call divides the Ummah, while they wish to gather and consolidate the Ummah. But this gathering and consolidation is not on the guidance of Allah, whereas when we call people to follow the Book and the Sunnah, there is no doubt that this divides people. This division is not good, but we are not responsible for it. We present good to the people of good who accept it, and it is not our concern if others reject it. This is what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sa'd: .
And this man came and informed him that he was praying the prayer he had seen the Messenger (peace be upon him) perform, so he lengthened the first two rak'ahs and shortened the last two. 'Umar approved of that, so I think that on this occasion or another, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas cursed this man.
The questioner : ... .
The Shaykh : Yes?
The questioner : ... the men left, and 'Umar sent [someone] to Kufa itself ... to investigate.
The Shaykh : The important point is that on this occasion, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas cursed him, and Allah answered his supplication. He lived as a sick, emaciated man, and he used to state explicitly that the curse of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas had overtaken him.
The questioner : Yes, I do.
So this authentic story serves as an example of the saying of (peace be upon him):. Yes, that is correct.
Yes?
The questioner : ... .
The Shaykh : Of course,Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2116Sahih (Darussalam), then the Messenger (peace be upon him) supplicates, saying: Sunan Abi Dawud 2864Sahih (Al-Albani); meaning, accept it from them and grant them success to act in accordance with its requirements, and do not turn them back on their heels so that they become regretful of their migration from Makkah to al-Madinah. It has come in the authentic Sunnah that the Muhajir who migrated from Makkah to al-Madinah, then came to Makkah as a pilgrim for Hajj or 'Umrah, is not permitted to stay in Makkah for more than three days, and he must immediately return to his place of migration. Why? For fear that he will settle down and long for his homeland, regret his previous migration, and turn back on his heels as a loser. Therefore, (peace be upon him) said: Sunan al-Bayhaqi 16:416, expressing his sorrow for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he died in Makkah.
The wretched one is Sa'd ibn Khawlah, who was one of the Muhajireen. He migrated from Makkah to al-Madinah, but his term of life came and he died in Makkah. The Messenger (peace be upon him) considered this a deficiency in the reward of this person, even though he does not control death; death is decreed upon him. He said:Sunan al-Bayhaqi 16:416, expressing his sorrow for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he died in Makkah.
Perhaps you will be left behind, and some people will benefit from you, while others will be harmed by you

ولعلك أن تُخلَّفَ حتى ينتفعَ بك أقوام ويُضَرَّ بك آخرونO Allah, complete the immigration of my Companions
اللهم أمضِ لأصحابي هجرتَهمO Allah, fulfill the migration of my companions, and do not turn them back on their heels, but the wretched one is Sa'd ibn Khawlah
