Continuation of the explanation of the statement of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he quoted: "."

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding the remainder of the hadith of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:
And perhaps you will have a long life so that some people will be benefited by you while others will be harmed by you. لعلك أن تُخلَّف حتى ينتفع بك أقوام ويضرَّ بك آخرون
Sahih al-Bukhari 1295
And we said: This matter has come to pass, for Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas was granted a long life until Allah opened up many lands of disbelief through his hands, so the Muslims benefited from that and the disbelievers were harmed by it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
O Allah, complete the immigration of my Companions اللهم أَمضِ لأصحابي هجرتهم
Sunan Abi Dawud 2864Sahih (Al-Albani)
The second is that none of them returns to Makkah after having left it as a migrant to Allah and His Messenger, because when you leave a land as a migrant to Allah and His Messenger, it is like money that you give in charity; the land is like the money you give in charity, and you cannot return to it. And so it is with everything a person leaves for the sake of Allah; he does not return to it. Among the things in which many people have been guided is removing the television from their homes as repentance to Allah and to distance themselves from it and the evils contained in it. These people said: Is it possible for us to bring it back into the house now?
We say: No, after you have removed it for the sake of Allah, do not bring it back, because when a person leaves something for the sake of Allah and abandons something for the sake of Allah, he does not return to it. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that he asked his Lord to carry through the migration of his companions. He said:
Narrated 'Amir b. Sa'd: On the authority of his father (Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas): When he (Sa'd) fell ill at Mecca (according to the version of Ibn Abi Kkalaf) - then the agreed version has: which brought him near to death - the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to visit him. He said: Messenger of Allah, I have a large amount of property, and my daughter is my only heir. May I give two-thirds (of my property) as a sadaqah (charity)? He said: No. He asked: Then a half ? He replied: No. He asked: Then one-third ? He replied: (You may will away) a third and third is a lot. To leave your heirs rich is better than to leave them poor begging from people. You will not spend anything, seeking thereby to please Allah, without being rewarded for it, even the mouthful you give your wife. I said: Messenger of Allah, shall I be left behind form immigration (to Medina)? He said: If you remain behind after me and do good works seeking the pleasure of Allah, your rank will be raised and degree increased. Perhaps you will not remain behind, and some people will benefit from you and others will be harmed by you. He then said: O Allah, complete the immigration of my Companions and do not turn them back. But miserable was Sa'd b. Khawlah. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) lamented on him as he died at Mecca. ولا تردهم على أعقابهم
Sunan Abi Dawud 2864Sahih (Al-Albani)
This is the opposite of what the atheists say today, where they describe Islam as reactionary, and they say: "Progress is for a person to strip himself of Islam and be a secularist", meaning a secularist in the sense that he does not distinguish between faith and disbelief, may Allah protect us, nor between open sinfulness and obedience. Faith is truly progress; the progressives are the believers, and progress is achieved through faith. And apostasy is a regression on the heels, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said here:
Narrated 'Amir b. Sa'd: On the authority of his father (Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas): When he (Sa'd) fell ill at Mecca (according to the version of Ibn Abi Kkalaf) - then the agreed version has: which brought him near to death - the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to visit him.
