The Shaykh’s response to those who claim that calling to the Book and the Sunnah divides the people.

The Shaykh : Therefore, we have a lesson in such a Prophetic text regarding some people who take offense at us, claiming that our call divides the Ummah, while they wish to gather the Ummah and consolidate it. But this gathering and consolidation is not guided by Allah. Meanwhile, when we call people to follow the Book and the Sunnah, there is no doubt that this divides people. And this division is not good, but we are not responsible for it. We present good to the people of good who accept it, and it is not our concern if others reject it. This is what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sa'd: .
And this man came and informed him that he was praying the prayer he had seen the Messenger (peace be upon him) perform, so he would lengthen the first two rak'ahs and shorten the last two. So 'Umar approved of that for him. I think that on this occasion, or on another, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas cursed this man.

The Shaykh : Yes?
The questioner : ... 'Umar sent [someone] to Kufa itself ... to investigate.
The Shaykh : ... The point is, on this occasion, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas cursed him, and Allah answered his supplication. So he lived as a sick, weak man who openly stated that Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas's curse had caught up with him. Yes, that is correct.
So this authentic story serves as an example of his (peace be upon him) saying: Yes, that is correct. Yes?
The questioner : ... .
The Shaykh : Of course,Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2116Sahih (Darussalam) Then the Messenger (peace be upon him) supplicates, saying: Sunan Abi Dawud 2864Sahih (Al-Albani) Meaning, accept it from them and guide them to act according to its requirements, and do not turn them back on their heels so that they become regretful of their migration from Makkah to Madinah. It has come in the authentic Sunnah that a Muhajir who migrated from Makkah to Madinah and then came to Makkah as a pilgrim for Hajj or 'Umrah is not permitted to stay in Makkah for more than three days, and he must immediately return to his place of migration. Why? Out of fear that he will settle down and long for his homeland, regret his previous migration, and turn back on his heels as a loser. Therefore, he (peace be upon him) said: Sunan al-Bayhaqi 16:416 The wretched one is Sa'd ibn Khawlah. He was one of the Muhajireen; he migrated from Makkah to Madinah, but his time came and he died in Makkah. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) considered this a deficiency in this person's reward, even though he does not control death; death is decreed upon him. He said, "But the wretched one is Sa'd ibn Khawlah," and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) expressed pity for him because he died in Makkah.
Perhaps you will be succeeded by people who will benefit from you, and others who will be harmed by you.
