The Refutation of the Quranists

The Shaykh : Therefore, it is obligatory for anyone who possesses knowledge to refute this methodology that has appeared, or that has revealed its century in this present age, after we have heard for about half a century of a group who claim affiliation with the Quran and call themselves Quranists; for they are content with the claim that Islam is nothing but the Quran. Now, a new call has emerged that is very close to that previous call, even though it does not openly claim to restrict itself to the Quran alone, as that group used to openly tell people and claim that there is nothing in Islam except the Noble Quran. We do not need to prove the invalidity of those who explicitly state that Islam is only the Noble Quran, but we want to clarify that some people who appear to be calling to Islam by the Book and the Sunnah have been led astray by their desires or their minds from the Sunnah, and they have fallen into something similar to what those people fell into, which is relying on the Quran alone. Therefore, I want to explain to you the danger of this methodology that this group has followed. We all know the statement of our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He), addressing our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in His saying: , and the many verses that the preachers of the Sunnah constantly recite regarding the command to return to the Book and the Sunnah are too well-known to be mentioned; so I will not prolong the session now by mentioning them.
