Examples from the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: We hear many of the brothers using Qur'anic verses to make examples or the like,Such as saying:
Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ
[Al-Ghashiyah: 7] ,And his statement:
From the earth We created you, and into it We will return youمِنْهَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ وَفِيهَا نُعِيدُكُمْ
[Ta-Ha: 55] , and from those noble Qur'anic verses which cannot be uttered except for what is beneficial and useful, not for mockery and frivolity, as is common on the tongues of some people, and what we hear or read, is this permissible or not?

Answer: There is no harm in using the Qur'an as an example, if that is for a correct purpose,As if he says: This thing neither fattens nor satisfies hunger,Or he says: From it We created you and into it We will return you, if he intends to remind of the state of man with the earth, that he was created from it and returns to it, then using the Qur'an as an example, if it is not in a way of mockery and ridicule, there is no harm in it. But if it is in a way of mockery and ridicule, as the questioner says, this is considered apostasy from Islam; because whoever mocks the Qur'an or something of the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), he apostatizes from the religion of Islam,As Allah the Exalted said:
(65) And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?" (66) Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you - We will punish another faction because they were criminals.
[At-Tawbah: 65, 66] , so it is obligatory to hold the Qur'an in high esteem and respect it, and this does not prevent a person from using it as an example in a dignified manner, and in a good manner, there is no objection to that. But using it in the way of mockery and ridicule, this is apostasy from Islam, and Allah the Exalted knows best.
