The Ruling on Intention During Ablution and Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your facesيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ
[Al-Ma'idah: 6] Is the intention required only for prayer, or for both ablution and prayer?

The intention of ablution is divided into two parts: First: The intention of the act is necessary, whether one performs ablution for prayer, for reciting the Qur'an, or for dhikr in general.By the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (Actions are only by intentions, and every person will have only what he intended) But is the intention of compliance required when one intends to pray, as Allah the Exalted said:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your facesيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ
[Al-Ma'idah: 6], or is the intention of compliance required for every prescribed ablution?Second: The closest view is that you intend compliance with every ablution. For example: If you intend to perform ablution for tawaf, or if you intend to perform ablution for reciting the Qur'an or for dhikr in general, then you intend by it to comply with the command of Allah the Mighty and Majestic in His command regarding ablution.
