The Path to Sincerity for Allah the Exalted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is your sister in Allah (M. H.) from Makkah al-Mukarramah who sent a set of questions, saying: O His Eminence the Shaykh: What is the correct path to making one's deeds sincere for Allah ? And how can a deed be made pure for His noble Face?

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows:
The path to making one's deeds sincere is to turn to Allah, to bring one's heart before Him, and to perform the deed seeking His Face, seeking salvation from the Fire, seeking His mercy and His kindness. Whether the deed is prayer, fasting, charity, Hajj, 'Umrah, or anything else, this is sincerity: to intend the Face of your Lord, seeking to draw near to Him... seeking His mercy... seeking His acceptance of it from you... seeking salvation from the Fire... seeking success in Paradise. Do not do it for showing off or for reputation, but do it seeking the Face of Allah... seeking the Hereafter... seeking salvation... seeking the purity of one's conscience. This is how the believer is. It is obligatory for every believing man and woman that his or her deed be for Allah, and that he or she intend by this deed the Face of his or her Lord and nearness to Him; perhaps He will be pleased with him or her, and perhaps He will accept it from him or her. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
