Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Indeed, your enemy is the one who is cut off)]

Then Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ
[Al-Kawthar: 3] This is in contrast to the bestowal of al-Kawthar. He said:
Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ
[Al-Kawthar 108:3]
(shan'ak) meaning: one who hates you, and shan'an is hatred,And among His saying, the Exalted:
And do not let the hatred of a people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Haram lead you to transgressوَلا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ أَنْ صَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ أَنْ تَعْتَدُوا
[Al-Ma'idah: 2] meaning: let not your hatred of them lead you to transgress,And he said:
and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being justوَلا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا
[Al-Ma'idah 5:8]
So Allah the Exalted said:
Be just; that is nearer to righteousnessاعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى
[Al-Ma'idah: 8] , so
your enemyشَانِئَكَ
means: one who hates you.
is the one who is cut offهُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ
Al-Abtar is a superlative noun, derived from batar, which means to cut,Meaning: He is the most cut off, severed from all good,And that is because the disbelievers of Quraysh used to say: Muhammad is abtar, there is no good in him and no blessing in him, nor in following him. When his son al-Qasim (may Allah be pleased with him) died, they said: Muhammad is abtar, he will have no children, and if he does have a child, his lineage will be cut off. So Allah the Exalted made clear that the abtar is the one who hates the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). He is the abtar, cut off from all good, in whom there is no blessing, and whose life is a source of regret for him. And if this applies to one who hates him, it also applies to one who hates his Shari'ah. So whoever hates the Shari'ah of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), or hates any of the rituals of Islam, or hates any obedience by which people worship in the religion of Islam, he is a disbeliever who has exited the religion, because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
That is because they disliked what Allah revealed, so He rendered worthless their deeds.ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوا مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالَهُمْ
[Muhammad: 9] And their works were not rendered void except by disbelief. So whoever hates the obligatory prayers, he is a disbeliever even if he pays zakah. And whoever hates the obligatory zakah, he is a disbeliever even if he prays. But whoever finds them burdensome without hating them, this is a characteristic of the characteristics of hypocrisy, but he does not become a disbeliever. And there is a difference between one who finds something burdensome and one who hates something.

Therefore: This verse contains an explanation of the favor of Allah upon His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) by giving him abundant good, then the command to be sincere to Allah the Exalted in prayers and slaughtering, and likewise in all other acts of worship, then an explanation that whoever hates the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) or hates anything of his Shari'ah, he is the most cut off, in whom there is no good and no blessing.
