The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: (The sun does not overtake the moon)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
[The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: (The sun does not overtake the moon)]
Those we trust testified that they saw the moon in the morning in the east at the time of prayer, and on the same day—in the evening—they saw it in the west,Meaning: that the month had begun on the very day they saw it,Does this not pose a problem in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the dayلا الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغِي لَهَا أَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ
[Yasin: 40] ?
It appears that this does not pose a problem,Meaning:
It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moonلا الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغِي لَهَا أَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ
[Yasin: 40] meaning: it is not possible for the sun to appear at night,
nor does the night overtake the dayوَلا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ
[Yasin: 40] meaning: it is not possible for night to be in the day,And the meaning of the verse: that Allah the Exalted has decreed night and day, so it is not possible for one to be in the time of the other, but He, (Exalted and Majestic is He), by His wisdom, causes the night to enter the day and the day to enter the night—Meaning: He inserts it—but this insertion is like threading a needle,Meaning: that it is gradually, gradually; this is the meaning of the verse.

As for what you mentioned, Allah the Exalted says:
And the moon when it follows itوَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلاهَا
[Al-Shams: 2] So perhaps it overtakes the sun, being seen at the beginning of the day and then seen at the end of the day, and this does occur. The important thing is that they are trustworthy. Therefore, if it is seen on the morning of the twenty-ninth day, and trustworthy witnesses testify that they saw it on the night of the thirtieth after sunset, then the second month is ruled to have begun.
