Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Indeed, this is in the former scrolls)
and His saying, the Exalted: [Al-A'la:18-19] (Indeed, this) means: what was mentioned regarding the fact that a person prefers worldly life over the Hereafter, and forgets the Hereafter even though it is better than this world, as well as the admonitions contained in the verses. [Al-A'la:18] means: those that preceded this nation, [Al-A'la:19] which are the scrolls brought by Ibrahim and Musa (peace be upon them both), containing admonitions that soften hearts and rectify conditions. We ask Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to make us among those who are given good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and to protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
