Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And for this reason, He said:
(17) While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. (18) Indeed, this is in the former scriptures, والآخرة خير وأبقى إن هذا لفي الصحف الأولى
[Al-A'la 87:17-18]
. As for what is being referred to by "this," it is what came before. It was said that it refers to His saying:
But you prefer the life of this world بل تؤثرون الحياة الدنيا
. It was also said that it is from His saying:
He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself قد أفلح من تزكى
[Al-A'la 87:14]
. And it was said that it refers to the entire surah. In any case, all the heavenly books urge remembrance through revelation and blame those who prefer the life of this world over the Hereafter
The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. صحف إبراهيم وموسى
[Al-A'la 87:19]
