The Ruling on Fasting the First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is there an authentic hadith regarding fasting the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah?
Fasting the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah is among the righteous deeds, without a doubt. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days. They said: O Messenger of Allah! What about jihad in the cause of Allah? He said: What about jihad in the cause of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his person and his wealth and returns with nothing.)
Thus, fasting falls within the general scope of this hadith. Moreover, a hadith was reported in the Sunan, which some scholars graded as hasan, that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast these ten days,Meaning: excluding the day of Eid. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) adopted this position,And this is the correct position, namely: holding that fasting them is a recommended practice (sunnah).
