The obligation to dispose of the riba (usury or interest) accrued on the capital

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! One of the brothers used to deposit his money in the bank, and praise be to Allah, and by the grace of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), he repented from that. The shares, as he says, had a price of (100) riyals, and it happened that this bank suffered a loss, so the price of the share became (80) riyals.Meaning: They returned to him less than his capital, and he knows that if he repents, his capital is what he has; but before that, they distributed profits of five riyals, and he took the profits. So does he dispose of these five riyals, or does he include them in his capital?
It is obligatory for him to dispose of these five riyals; because at that time they are considered an increase and riba (usury or interest), so they are not profits but a loss.
So he must give in charity what he received as an increase before his repentance, to dispose of it, not to draw near to Allah with it.

The questioner: And if at the time of his repentance he wanted to liquidate, and they gave him the five riyals? The Shaykh: The same thing, as long as he has now suffered a loss, that means this increase was before the decrease in his capital occurred.
