Ruling on going to sorcerers for the purpose of treatment or breaking a spell

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is the ruling on one who goes to sorcerers for the purpose of treatment or breaking a spell?
The one who goes to sorcerers is sinful; because it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: (He is not one of us who practices sorcery or has sorcery performed for him), but some of the scholars from the Salaf and the Khalaf mentioned that if one is in dire necessity, then there is nothing wrong with going to the sorcerer to have the spell broken for him,On the condition: provided that this sorcerer does not call upon anyone besides Allah,Meaning: a polytheist; because the one who associates partners with Allah is ritually impure and there is no good in him.

The questioner: To whom does the hadith apply: (Whoever goes to a sorcerer or a diviner.
) ؟.

The Shaykh: The scholars say: Those who permitted this in cases of dire necessity,They said: Allah the Exalted said:
while He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you, excepting that to which you are compelledوَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُمْ مَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَاّ مَا اضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ
[Al-An'am: 119] But do you know what dire necessity is?Dire necessity is: That one fears harm from a persistent illness or death, and that it cannot be treated through the Qur'an and permissible supplications, and some of the scholars prohibited that,They said: it is not permissible to go to the sorcerer even if one dies; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the nashrah (incantation) and he said: (It is from the work of Satan).
