The ruling on seeking treatment with a remedy when there is doubt that the one who recommended it is a sorcerer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: A man is sick, and someone referred him to a person who treats illnesses. He went to him, and he recommended a herbal medicine to him. He used it and was cured. There is another man with the same illness, but he fears that this man whom the first person visited deals in sorcery. Is it permissible for him to use this herbal medicine or not? And how does a person know whether this man deals in sorcery or not?
As for seeking treatment with herbs, there is nothing wrong with it, whether the one who gave it to you is a sorcerer or not; because herbs are among the things Allah has made lawful.
As for going to this man, if he is a sorcerer, do not go to him; because going to sorcerers is forbidden. This is if you know that he is a sorcerer. But if you do not know, and the man’s outward appearance is one of righteousness and piety, then the original presumption is the innocence of the Muslim, and there is nothing wrong with going to him.
