Among the rulings of the prostration for forgetfulness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If the imam is praying the midday prayer and he adds a fifth rak'ah, does he prostrate for forgetfulness before the closing salam or after it? And is it required of the followers who missed some of the rak'ahs to prostrate with the imam, or should they make up what they missed? May Allah reward you with good?
Yes.
If the imam adds a rak'ah to his prayer, such as praying five rak'ahs for the midday prayer, then he must prostrate for forgetfulness.Based on the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): (That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed the midday prayer with them for five rak'ahs,When he said the salam, they said to him: O Messenger of Allah! Did you add to the prayer? He said: And what is that? They said: I prayed five rak'ahs. So he folded his legs, turned toward the qiblah, and prostrated two prostrations) .

And on this basis, we say: If you add a rak'ah to your prayer, such as a fifth in a four-rak'ah prayer, a fourth in a three-rak'ah prayer, or a third in a two-rak'ah prayer; then you prostrate for forgetfulness after the salam, as indicated by the hadith of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). As for the one who joins the prayer late, he does not prostrate with the imam if the imam's prostration is after the salam; because he cannot follow the imam, as the imam will say the salam, and this latecomer will not say the salam. So the latecomer stands up, and then if the forgetfulness for which the imam prostrated occurred before this latecomer joined him, there is no prostration required of him. And if the forgetfulness for which the imam prostrated occurred after this latecomer joined him, then when he finishes his prayer -I mean: the latecomer - he prostrates two prostrations.
And know that the prostration after the salam requires the salam after the second prostration.
