Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (The Striker. What is the Striker? And what do you know what the Striker is?)]
We begin this session with where we left off in the exegesis of the Juz' al-Naba', where we reached Surat al-Qari'ah.

Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, says: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
(1) The Striking Calamity - (2) What is the Striking Calamity?
[al-Qari'ah:1-2] .
The rest.
The Basmala is a verse from the Book of Allah; it is recited at the beginning of every surah but is not counted among the verses of the surah, neither in al-Fatihah nor in any other, according to the stronger opinion among the scholars' views. So the first verse in al-Fatihah is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds -
[al-Fatihah:1] and the second:
The Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy
[al-Fatihah:2] and the third:
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
[al-Fatihah:3] and the fourth:
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
[al-Fatihah:4] and the fifth:
Guide us to the straight path -
[al-Fatihah:5] and the sixth:
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor
[al-Fatihah:6] and the seventh:
not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
[al-Fatihah:7] except that it was not recited at the beginning of Surat al-Bara'ah; because that was not established with the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), so the matter was difficult for them: Is it the remainder of Surat al-Anfal, or is it an independent surah? Therefore, they placed a separator before the Basmala.

Allah the Exalted says:
(1) The Striking Calamity - (2) What is the Striking Calamity?
[al-Qari'ah:1-2] (The Striker) is an active participle from the root q-r-' (to strike), and it means that which strikes the hearts and terrifies them, and that is when the Trumpet is blown,As Allah the Exalted said:
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allah willsوَيَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَفَزِعَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
[al-Naml:87] so it strikes the hearts after striking the ears, and this Striker is a great Striker with no like before it, and it is one of the names of the Day of Resurrection, just as it is called al-Ghashiyyah (The Overwhelming) and al-Haqqah (The Inevitable).

And his statement:
What is the Striker?
(What) here is a question meaning magnification and glorification,Meaning: What is the Striker that is spoken of in high terms?
And what do you know about the Striking Blow?
This is an increase in glorification, magnification, and exaggeration,Meaning: What thing shall I inform you about this Striker,Meaning: How great it is and how severe it is.
