Our Duty Regarding Circulating News

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
As for publicly declaring his denial, that is very unlikely. But if it is true, then its direction is as I said: Perhaps he heard someone speaking these words and wanted to clear himself of what people are saying.

In any case, we must do three things in order in response to the news we hear: The first is to verify.

The second matter: To reflect.

The third matter: To confront and advise, without publicizing or announcing it, especially if the person is one of the rulers, a scholar, a prince, or the like.
By doing this, we follow the path of the righteous predecessors (may Allah be pleased with them), and much good is achieved. This does not cause us to miss anything; instead of denying it today, verify and reflect, then deny it tomorrow or the day after.

We say: Verify and clarify, but with calmness and steady, balanced steps based on evidence: transmitted and rational. By this, matters are completed and conditions are rectified.
We ask Allah the Exalted to unite our hearts upon His obedience and mindfulness of Him, and to unify our word in truth. Indeed, He is capable of all things. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
