Ruling on staying away from one's wife for more than six months without her consent

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is it permissible for a man to travel and stay away from his wife for a year or more without her consent, knowing that she has rights during this period?
It is not permissible for him to be absent from his family for more than six months except for a pressing need, such as medical treatment or the like, in which case there is no harm, because he is compelled. As for anything else, it is not permissible, unless she consents and is in a safe place, in which case there is no harm. But if she does not consent, it is forbidden for him to remain. And at that point, we say to her: You have the choice: if you wish to remain with him in this state, you may, otherwise you have the right to annul the marriage. And we also say to him: Either return to your family, or give her the choice to remain with you or be divorced, so that her rights are not neglected.
