Explanation of the words of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he quoted: "

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, regarding the noble verses he cited in the chapter on showing compassion to the poor, orphans, and the needy and those similar to them: "And the saying of Allah the Exalted: 'And Allah the Exalted said:[Ad-Duhaa 93:6-11]' :"
The address in His saying: is to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Allah the Exalted affirms in these verses that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was an orphan, for he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) lived without a mother or a father. So his grandfather, 'Abd al-Muttalib, took him in, and then he died in the eighth year of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) life. Then his uncle, Abu Talib, took him in. He was an orphan, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to tend sheep for the people of Makkah for a small amount of money, meaning a little bit of dirhams. Because: Sahih Muslim 50a: All the prophets, in the beginning of their mission, were shepherds. Why? So that they would know and practice care and good guardianship. And Allah chose for them that their flock be sheep, because the shepherd of sheep is characterized by calmness, gentleness, and mercy, because he tends to weak livestock, unlike the shepherds of camels. The shepherds of camels are mostly rough and harsh, because camels are also rough, strong, and powerful.
So he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was an orphan, raised as an orphan. Then Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, honored him by making it easy for him to have a righteous wife, who is the Mother of the Believers, Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her). He married her when he was twenty-five years old, and she was forty years old. She was wise, intelligent, and righteous. Allah granted him children from her, all of them, both sons and daughters, except for Ibrahim, who was from his concubine, Maryam the Copt. The important point is that Allah made her easy for him, and she managed his affairs. And he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) did not marry anyone else until she died.
Allah, Mighty and Majestic, honored him with prophethood. So the first thing he was initiated with was revelation, which was that he would see true dreams in his sleep. When he saw a true dream in his sleep, it would come clear and distinct in its day, like the break of dawn. Because a true dream is a part of the forty-six parts of prophethood. So he called to Allah, brought good news, and warned. And people followed him. And this orphan who used to tend sheep became the imam of a nation that is the greatest of nations. And he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was a shepherd for them, a shepherd for the nations, for this great nation.
He said:[Ad-Duhaa 93:6]: Allah sheltered you after your orphanhood, and made it easy for you to have someone to manage your affairs until you grew up and became an adult, and Allah bestowed upon you the great message.
[Ad-Duhaa 93:7]: He found you lost: meaning not knowing, as Allah the Exalted said: [Al-'Ankabut 29:48], and He said: [An-Nisa 4:113], and Allah the Exalted said: [Ash-Shuraa 42:52]. But through this great Book, he became a person of complete knowledge and complete faith, (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). He found you lost: meaning not knowing, but He guided you. By what did He guide him? By the Qur'an. Allah guided him by the Qur'an.
means: poor. He enriched you. Allah opened for you the conquests until he was dividing and giving to people. One day he gave a man sheep between two mountains. And he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to give the gift of one who does not fear poverty.
Then consider:[Ad-Duhaa 93:6] It did not say "So He sheltered you," it said: , [Ad-Duhaa 93:7], and it did not say: "So He guided you," [Ad-Duhaa 93:8], and it did not say: "So He enriched you." Why? For two reasons: one is linguistic, and the second is semantic.
As for the linguistic reason: it is so that the verses correspond, the beginnings of the verses,[Ad-Duhaa 93:2-5] the end of all the verses are alifs, [Ad-Duhaa 93:6]: If it had said: "So He sheltered you," the wording would have differed. And "He found you lost so He guided you," the wording would have differed. And "He found you poor so He enriched you," the wording would have differed. But He made all the verses end with the same letter.
The second reason is semantic: and it is greater.[Ad-Duhaa 93:6]: Did Allah shelter him alone, or did He shelter him and shelter his nation through him? The latter. Allah sheltered him and sheltered nations through his hands that only Allah, Mighty and Majestic, can count. [Ad-Duhaa 93:7]: Did He guide him alone? No, He guided great nations through him until the Day of Resurrection. [Ad-Duhaa 93:8] Yes, did Allah enrich him alone? No, Allah enriched him and enriched people through him.
How much the Muslim nation gained from the great conquests.[Al-Fath 48:20]: So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, enriched them through Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). So did He not find you an orphan and shelter you and shelter through you? And did He not find you lost and guide you and guide through you? And did He not find you poor and enrich you and enrich through you? This is the state of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
Then he said:[Ad-Duhaa 93:9]: Remember yourself when you were an orphan, so do not oppress the orphan. Make his affairs easy, simplify his matters. If he cries, silence him. If he is angry, appease him. If he is tired, lighten his burden. And so on. [Ad-Duhaa 93:9], [Ad-Duhaa 93:10]:The questioner : It appears from the context of the verses that the asker is the one who asks for money, saying "Give me money," so do not repel him. Because he said: [Ad-Duhaa 93:8]. When He enriched you, do not repel the asker. Remember your state when you were poor, so do not repel the asker.
It is also possible that the asker refers to the asker of money and the asker of knowledge. So even the one who asks for knowledge, do not repel him. The one who asks for knowledge, receive him with an open chest, because if he were not in need and if he did not have fear of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, he would not have come to ask. Do not meet him with hostility, except for one who is stubborn. In that case, there is no harm in repelling him.
If you were informing him and then he says: "This is forbidden," why is it forbidden? Why does Allah forbid riba and permit sale? Why does Allah forbid a nursing mother and not forbid others, for example? Yes, and many other things. This is the one who is stubborn. Repel him, and there is no harm in being angry with him. As: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) did when a man from the Ansar and al-Zubayr ibn al-'Awwam quarreled. They quarreled over the Wadi Shaybah where the flood comes. And al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) had his wall before the wall of the Ansari, so they disputed. The Ansari said to al-Zubayr: "Do not hold back the water from me," and al-Zubayr said: "I am higher, so I am more entitled." They quarreled before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), they disputed, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:Sunan al-Bayhaqi 9:215 This is a ruling. So he said: "If it is your cousin, O Messenger of Allah!" A word, but anger drove him to say it, and I seek refuge in Allah. Al-Zubayr ibn al-'Awwam is the son of Safiyyah bint 'Abd al-Muttalib, the aunt of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). He said: "If it is your cousin, O Messenger of Allah." So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) became angry and said: The channel that they call: the channel, which is between the pools of water, Sunan al-Bayhaqi 9:215 ".
So the result is that the asker of knowledge, do not repel him. Receive him with a broad chest, and teach him until he understands. Especially in our time now, many people now ask you and their hearts are against you. You answer him with the question, then he misunderstands it, then he goes and tells people: "So-and-so scholar issued a fatwa for me on such and such." Therefore, you should not let go of the person who asks you until you know that he has understood.
[Ad-Duhaa 93:11]: The blessing of Allah upon you, speak of it. Say: "Praise be to Allah, Allah has provided me with knowledge, Allah has provided me with wealth, Allah has provided me with a child," and the like of that.
And speaking of the blessing of Allah is of two types: speaking with the tongue, and speaking with the limbs.
Speaking with the tongue: you say: "Allah has blessed me. I was poor, so Allah enriched me. I did not know, so Allah taught me," and the like of that.
Speaking with the limbs: that the effect of Allah's blessing is seen upon you. The effect of the blessing is seen. You were rich, do not wear the clothes of the poor. Wear clothes that befit you. Likewise the house, likewise the vehicle. Everything, let people know Allah's blessing upon you. For this is from speaking of the blessing of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. And from speaking of the blessing of Allah, if Allah has given you knowledge, is that you speak to people with it, teaching people, because people are in need. May Allah guide me and you to what He loves and is pleased with.
