The ruling on the wudu of one who leaves the restroom in a state of distraction, then goes and performs wudu
O honorable Shaykh! A man left the restroom in a state of distraction, then went and performed wudu. Is his wudu valid, considering that he may not have had an intention for it?
The wudu is valid even if he was distracted; because what made him go to the ablution area, wash his hands, rinse his mouth, sniff water into his nose, and wash his face to the end of the wudu,And he says: is the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah? So he did not go to the place of wudu except with the intention of doing it. Even if he was thinking about something else, that does not harm him or invalidate his wudu.
And a man who goes to the Tigris to bathe and then says: I believe that I am still in a state of janabah, this is insanity! : If Allah had obligated us to perform an act without intention, it would be imposing what is beyond human capacity. A man came to Ibn Aqil, a scholar from the early Hanbali scholars,He said to him: My master.
I go to take a ghusl from janabah in the Tigris River, and then I come out, still believing that I am in a state of janabah!! Ibn 'Aqil (may Allah have mercy on him) said to him: Do not pray! The man said: Are you ordering me to leave off the prayer? Some scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) say: Do not pray! The man said: Are you ordering me to leave the prayer?
And a man goes to the Tigris to take a ghusl, and then says: I believe that I am still in a state of janabah. This is madness!!
