Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A sick man who cannot go to the restrooms: what is the ruling on his ablution? Is he to perform dry ablution if he is able to have someone bring him water to perform ablution with, or is it permissible for him to perform dry ablution?

The Shaykh : We say: the one who cannot reach the restroom should have water brought to him and he should perform ablution in his place, based on the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
So fear Allah as much as you are able فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
And if he is unable to reach the bathroom, he can have water brought to him and perform ablution from it. It is not permissible to be negligent in this. However, if performing the ablution itself is difficult for him, whether he goes to the bathroom or performs ablution in his place, then he should perform dry ablution.
