Ruling on repeating the Maghrib prayer as a voluntary prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
ً

His Eminence the Shaykh: A person prayed Maghrib, and another person came in and wanted to give him charity, so he prayed with him.And after the prayer, one of the brothers said to him: Must you add a rak'ah because you have prayed the witr of the day?

The correct view: No, he does not add a rak'ah; that is because this Maghrib prayer is a repetition and not an independent prayer. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the two men who had missed the prayer with the congregation in Fajr: (If you have prayed in your homes and then come to the mosque of the congregation and pray with them, it will be a voluntary prayer for you) and he did not say: except for Maghrib, make it even.
The important point is that when a person repeats the Maghrib prayer, he does not make it even, but rather he performs it as three rak'ahs.
