The acts of the twelfth day of the days of Hajj

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
On the night of the twelfth: The pilgrims spend the night in Mina, and you know that spending the night in Mina is obligatory, and that it is not permissible to be negligent about it. On the twelfth day, we stone the pillars as we stoned them on the eleventh day. Then, whoever wishes to hasten should leave Mina, and whoever wishes to delay should remain; for Allah has given a choice,So he said:
Then whoever hastens [his departure] in two days - there is no sin upon him; and whoever delays [until the third] - there is no sin upon him - for him who fears Allahفَمَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ فَلا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ فَلا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ لِمَنِ اتَّقَى
[al-Baqarah: 203] Which is better? Delaying is better;Because Allah praised those who delay, saying:
and whoever delays [until the third] - there is no sin upon him - for him who fears Allahوَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ فَلا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ لِمَنِ اتَّقَى
[Al-Baqarah 2:203]
and because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed, and following his example is better, and because in delaying there is an increase in righteous deeds, such as spending the night and stoning the pillars.
When Hajj is completed and a person wishes to return to his country, he must perform the farewell circumambulation without sa'y and without ihram, seven circuits, and then he should immediately depart to his country, and the farewell circumambulation must be the last thing. Accordingly, if one performs the farewell circumambulation and then leaves and stones and walks from Mina, his circumambulation is out of place, and it is as if he had not circumambulated.By the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (Whoever does an action that is not in accordance with our command, it is rejected) And it has been commanded that the farewell circumambulation be the last thing. The farewell circumambulation is waived for the menstruating woman and the woman with post-natal bleeding;Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when it was said to him: (Indeed, Safiyyah had performed the circumambulation of Tawaf al-Ifadah and she was menstruating,He said: so let her leave) meaning: and she has no farewell circumambulation to perform,And the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): (The people were commanded that their last act with the House be circumambulation, except that it was made easier for the menstruating woman) The scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) said: If one delays the Tawaf al-Ifadah, which is on the Day of 'Eid, and performs it when departing, it suffices for the farewell circumambulation, just as the obligatory prayer suffices for the greeting of the mosque.Meaning: If you enter the mosque and pray the obligatory four-rak'ah, three-rak'ah, or two-rak'ah prayer, it suffices for you for the greeting of the mosque. Similarly, Tawaf al-Ifadah is obligatory, and it is more emphasized than the farewell circumambulation. If you perform it when departing, it suffices for you for the farewell circumambulation. But what do you intend? We say: The intention here has three forms: 1- Either one intends the farewell circumambulation alone.
2- Or Tawaf al-Ifadah alone.
3- Or one intends both of them together.
If one intends the farewell circumambulation alone, it does not suffice for Tawaf al-Ifadah; because the lesser does not suffice for the greater. And I have mentioned to you: That Tawaf al-Ifadah is greater than the farewell circumambulation;By the evidence: That the farewell circumambulation is waived for the menstruating woman, while Tawaf al-Ifadah is not waived.
And if one intends Tawaf al-Ifadah alone, it suffices for the farewell circumambulation. And if one intends both of them together, he obtains both of them.By the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (Actions are by intentions, and every person will have what he intended).
