The Obligation of Paying Zakah on Jewelry When It Reaches the Nisab

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Does a woman have to pay zakah on the gold on her hands?
Yes, the gold jewelry on a woman is subject to obligatory zakah if it reaches the nisab, and the nisab is eighty-five grams. Once it reaches this limit, she must pay zakah. If she has money, she pays from her money. If she has no money and her husband, father, or son pays it for her, the requirement is fulfilled. Otherwise, she sells an amount of gold equal to the zakah and pays it.

Someone might say: If you say that, and she ends up selling from her gold every year, it is finished.

We say: It cannot possibly end, because if it falls below the nisab, the zakah obligation ceases, so she must have some remaining.
