A research project by some students on the descriptions of the Qur'an in the Qur'an.

The Shaykh : Verily, all praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, seek His forgiveness, and turn to Him in repentance. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can mislead, and whomsoever He leaves to mislead, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, upon his family, upon his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows, O my brothers, the topic of our lesson tonight will be explaining the verification of following the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and what that entails.
But before we begin with this topic, we will look into two matters. One of them is the request to those who committed to us last night to mention the descriptions of the Qur'an in the Qur'an. Did they bring it?
The questioner : Yes.
The Shaykh : Fine, you may read it.
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Verily, all praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, seek His forgiveness, and seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can mislead, and whomsoever He leaves to mislead, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
As for what follows, by the grace of Allah upon man in this life, he is guided by the sound fitrah (innate natural disposition) that Allah has placed in him, which leads him to good. Indeed, a Messenger was sent to him carrying a Book from Allah, and the last of these Books is this great Book that was revealed to the last of the Messengers, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The descriptions of this great Book are numerous, and here is what I am researching regarding its noble attributes. First: It is light. Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nisa 4:174] Second: It is guidance. Third: It is healing. Fourth: It is mercy. Fifth: It is an admonition. Allah the Exalted said: [Yunus 10:57] Sixth: It is blessed. Allah the Exalted said: Seventh: It is a clarifier. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Ma'idah 5:15] Eighth: It is good news. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:97] Ninth: It is noble. Allah the Exalted said: [Fussilat 41:41] Tenth: It is glorious. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Buruj 85:21] Eleventh: It is honorable. Allah the Exalted said: Twelfth: It is a bringer of good news and a warner. Allah the Exalted said: [Fussilat 41:3-4] Thirteenth: It is a detailed Book. Allah the Exalted said: [Fussilat 41:3] Fourteenth: It is Arabic.
The Shaykh : This is not suitable from it. But this one: "And We have revealed to you the Book, a detailed Book," in another verse, not this one. This one does not indicate that it is detailed; this verb is a name, but it contains[Al-An'am 6:114]. Use this verse in place of it: [Al-An'am 6:114].
The questioner : It is a detailed Book. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-An'am 6:114] Fourteenth: It is Arabic. Allah the Exalted said: Fifteenth: It is a wonder. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Jinn 72:1] Sixteenth: It is a guide to righteousness. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Jinn 72:1-2].
The Shaykh : Anything that comes in the form of a verb, do not count it.
The questioner : Seventeenth: It is a confirmer of the revealed Books. Allah the Exalted said:[Ali 'Imran 3:3] Eighteenth: It is a Book of similar verses, repeated. Allah the Exalted said: [Az-Zumar 39:23] Nineteenth: It is a revealed Book. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-An'am 6:155].
The Shaykh : But this is a verb; do not count the verb.
The questioner : It is a proof. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-An'am 6:157] Twenty-first: It is a reminder. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-A'raf 7:2] Twenty-second: It is insights. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-A'raf 7:203].
The Shaykh : But that is enough; we have found it.
The questioner : Forty remain.
The Shaykh : Yes, leave it for later. The second lesson will cover the rest, if Allah wills.

O mankind, there has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light.
O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy

Indeed, those who disbelieve in the message after it has come to them... And indeed, it is a mighty Book.
But this is an honored Qur'an
And it is indeed an honorable Qur'an.
(3) A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, (4) As a giver of good tidings and a warner
A Book whose verses have been detailed
The Shaykh : This is not suitable from it. But this one: "And We have revealed to you the Book, a detailed Book," in another verse, not this one. This one does not indicate that it is detailed; this verb is a name, but it contains
while it is He who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail
وهو والذي أنزل إليكم الكتاب مفصلاwhile it is He who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail
The questioner : It is a detailed Book. Allah the Exalted said:
while it is He who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail
وهو والذي أنزل إليكم الكتاب مفصلاan Arabic Qur'an
Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an.
Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. (2) It guides to the right course
The Shaykh : Anything that comes in the form of a verb, do not count it.
The questioner : Seventeenth: It is a confirmer of the revealed Books. Allah the Exalted said:
He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it
نزل عليك الكتاب بالحق مصدقا لما بين يديهa consistent Book wherein is reiteration
And this [Qur'an] is a Book We have revealed [which is] blessed, so follow it
The Shaykh : But this is a verb; do not count the verb.
The questioner : It is a proof. Allah the Exalted said:
So there has [now] come to you a clear evidence from your Lord and a guidance and mercy

The questioner : Forty remain.
