The ruling on one who enters the mosque and does not pray the greeting of the mosque while waiting for the imam
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
After Maghrib, we see one of the students, if the imam is delayed by five or ten minutes, stand up and not pray the greeting of the mosque. And when we asked him, he says: I am reading while standing until the imam arrives; because there are only five or ten minutes left between the adhan and the iqamah. We have spoken about this matter many times, and they continue to repeat this action. We do not know if they have a valid reason or not?
First, may Allah bless him: This is from the discouragement of Shaytan, and it is strange for these people to stand waiting for the imam when they do not know when he will come; perhaps he will be delayed a long time, is that not so? This is one matter.
The second: How can they stand and not pray when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pray before Maghrib, pray before Maghrib, pray before Maghrib,Then he said: for whoever wishes" out of dislike for people to make it a habit, so this is from their ignorance,Then, who says: the one who is standing is not like the one who is sitting, and their standing is like sitting,And the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "Do not sit until you pray two rak'ahs" based on the fact that the norm is that a person when he enters the mosque sits and does not stand, so their standing means sitting, and perhaps they argue based on the saying of the Messenger that a menstruating woman does not perform tawaf that circling is in the position of sitting; because it is not permissible for a menstruating woman to sit in the mosque.
You have advised and may Allah reward you with good, and I, if Allah wills, if I remember, will speak about this, and it is not just this,Also, among the wonders: if they see the imam stand up, even if the prayer has not started, if the imam is busy, for example, he goes to the right or left, or returns, or enters and remembers that he is not in wudu' and goes to perform wudu', do these people remain standing?!
