Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And indeed, a settled punishment overtook them in the morning)

Allah the Exalted said:
(38) And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment. (39) So taste My punishment and warning.وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُسْتَقِرٌّ * فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
[Surah al-Qamar: 38-39] Meaning: The punishment overtook them and came upon them in the morning, just as they were rising from sleep and facing their day while rejoicing, each one of them thinking about what he would do that day, when suddenly the punishment struck them—may Allah grant us safety—
Taste My punishment and warning."فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
[Al-Qamar 54:37]
.

Among the lessons from this verse: That these people, whose innate disposition and nature Allah had inverted, had their buildings inverted upon them by being pelted with stones of baked clay, so the buildings collapsed until their top became their bottom,And it was said: Indeed, Allah the Exalted inverted their dwellings, uprooting them from their foundations, until He raised them up and then overturned them. If this is correct, then Allah is capable of all things. If it is not correct, then it is not upon us except to take the apparent meaning of the Qur'an that they were rained upon with stones of baked clay, and the buildings collapsed upon them.

The scholars derived from this: That the one who commits sodomy is killed in all cases, both the active and the passive party, and this is the stronger position. It is obligatory to execute for sodomy in all cases, unlike unlawful sexual intercourse, where a distinction is made between the married and the unmarried. As for sodomy, they are killed in all cases, as long as the active and passive parties are adults and of sound mind, it is obligatory to execute them in all cases, except for the coerced one, for whom nothing is required,Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) agreed upon executing the active and passive parties, but they differed on how they should be executed? So one of them said: They are executed by being stoned with stones until they die,And some of them said: They are executed by being thrown from the highest place in the town and then pelted with stones. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) burned the sodomites with fire, and likewise Khalid ibn al-Walid and one of the Umayyad caliphs burned them with fire due to the magnitude of their crime, refuge is sought in Allah. And because this abomination, if it spreads among a people, causes their men to become women, and one of them pursues the males of men until they commit the abomination with him, refuge is sought in Allah, and the norms are overturned,And the offspring was lost, meaning: That people turn to males and leave the women, who are the tillage for men, and guarding against them is difficult;Because it is not possible for us to find two and say: How did you associate this as an example? But if we find a man and a woman, it is possible to guard against them. Therefore, the cure for the society from this ugly and heinous act is to execute the active and passive party, and a hadith has come regarding this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: (If you find anyone doing the deed of the people of Lut, kill the active and the passive party).
And for this reason, it is obligatory upon us—O brothers—to guard against this with the utmost caution, and to check on our sons: where did they go? Where did they come from? Who are their friends? And are they on the straight path or not? So that we protect the society from this vile act.
