The Ruling on Nullifying Sorcery with Sorcery and Contacting Righteous Jinn

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! What is the ruling on nullifying sorcery with sorcery? And what is the ruling if the fortune-teller informs about relative hidden knowledge,For example: something was stolen and the fortune-teller informed about it, some people know and some people do not know?
As for the first, which is nullifying sorcery with sorcery, it is not permissible; because this leads to the spread of sorcery, since the person who nullifies sorcery with sorcery must be given a reward and a lot of money, which leads to people learning sorcery in order to nullify it, and this is a great harm. If it were that the bewitched person died, the harm here would be individual, but the proliferation of sorcerers is a great harm to the community, so it is not permissible to nullify sorcery with sorcery. But some scholars said: If there is a dire necessity such that we study each case individually, a dispensation may be granted for that, and the reason for this is that sorcery is harm, and removing harm is not a problem.

Therefore Ibn al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: About a man who cannot have intercourse with his wife because there is sorcery on him, should it be taken from him or activated? He said: There is nothing wrong with it, for they only seek thereby reconciliation. Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned this in the book of Tawhid, but we do not issue a fatwa on this as I told you, for in this there is great harm, and perhaps the sorcerers may agree, and one of them performs the sorcery, and the other breaks it, and there is an agreement between them.
The fortune-teller, as I told you a moment ago, did you hear what we said about the hidden matters of the future? As for the one who informs about something that happened but is absent from him, this is called a diviner, but he looks at what the cause is, that he knows the location of the stolen item, or that the one who stole so-and-so, what is the cause? He says, for example: If he has a jinn;Let him inform us: What is the relationship of this man whom the jinn informed? He looks if his relationship is a good relationship, meaning: That this jinn is righteous and that the human has been good to him in knowledge or advice, or he pleased him and the jinn became his servant,The Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned: That there is nothing wrong with that, and that seeking the help of a jinn without oppression and in a prescribed manner is not a problem, and he mentioned a story about the righteous predecessors.
