Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And Thamud, and what He left behind)

Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Najm: 51] meaning: He destroyed Thamud and left nothing behind. Thamud were the people of al-Hijr, to whom Allah sent Salih, but they denied him. Allah the Exalted had given them strength, knowledge, and expertise in construction, yet they could not avert what Allah intended for them. When they were called out to and the earth shook beneath them, they became prostrate in their homes—may Allah protect us from that.
