Allah the Exalted said: [Qaf: 12-14] :-Allah mentioned these deniers for two benefits: The first benefit: Consoling the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) by informing him that he is not the first messenger to be denied, but rather the messengers before him were also denied,As Allah the Exalted said: [Fussilat: 43] It was said: He is a poet,And it was said: He is a madman,And it was said: He is a soothsayer,And Allah the Exalted said: [Adh-Dhariyat: 52] .
This is a benefit of mentioning the stories of previous nations, and it is to console the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); because when a person sees that others have been afflicted with a similar affliction, he is certainly consoled, and the affliction becomes easier for him to bear.
The second benefit: Warning those who denied the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him),Therefore He said at the end of what He mentioned: [Qaf: 14] ,Meaning: The threat of Allah with punishment became a reality for them,And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Al-Ankabut: 40] Meaning: Each one of these nations was recompensed with the like of their sin and was punished with the like of their sin.
[Qaf 50:12] , The people of Noah denied Noah (may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him), and he remained among them for a thousand years except fifty years, nine hundred and fifty years, calling them to Allah (Mighty and Majestic); but they did not benefit from that at all. Whenever he called them so that Allah would forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears and covered themselves with their garments -Meaning: they covered themselves - and they were arrogant in their arrogance, and he remained among them for this period,And Allah the Exalted said at the end: [Hud: 40] .
[Qaf 50:12] The people of the well: A people to whom their prophet came, but they killed him with the well, which is a pit,Meaning: they dug a pit and buried him, this is one opinion,The second opinion: The people of the well: A people around water, and they were not a large multitude, and yet they denied their messenger.
And they are the people of Salih in the land of al-Hijr, which is known,They denied Salih and said: [Al-A'raf: 77] And this is a challenge, so what did Allah do to them? He sent upon them a shout and a quake, [Hud: 67] .
Allah the Exalted said:
(12) The people of Noah denied before them, and the companions of the well and Thamud (13) And 'Aad and Pharaoh and the brothers of Lot (14) And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ * وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ * وَأَصْحَابُ الأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍNothing is said to you, [O Muhammad], except what was already said to the messengers before you
مَا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِنْ قَبْلِكَSimilarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."
