Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (So that the People of the Book may know that they have no power over any of the bounty of Allah)
Then he said: [Surat al-Hadid: 29] Meaning: He has made this reward for you so that the People of the Book may know that they have no power over any of the bounty of Allah, and that they are unable to envy you for what Allah has given you of His bounty, despite their intense attempt to envy the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family),As Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Baqarah: 109] .
He the Majestic says here:[Al-Hadid 57:29] Neither in giving nor in withholding, ((and that the bounty is in the hand of Allah)) He is the Manager of everything He wills according to what His wisdom requires [Surat al-Hadid: 29] Meaning: The possessor of the great bounty, and how great is the bounty of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) upon His servants, for He the Exalted said: [Surat al-Nahl: 53] .
We ask Allah the Exalted to grant us and you from His bounty, and to bestow upon us from Him mercy, for He is the Bestower of gifts, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.
Then he said:
so that the People of the Scripture may know that they are not able [to obtain] anything from the bounty of Allah
لِئَلَّا يَعْلَمَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَلَّا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِMany of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves
He the Majestic says here:
so that the People of the Scripture may know that they are not able [to obtain] anything from the bounty of Allah
لِئَلَّا يَعْلَمَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَلَّا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِand Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِAnd whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help.
وَمَا بِكُمْ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَWe ask Allah the Exalted to grant us and you from His bounty, and to bestow upon us from Him mercy, for He is the Bestower of gifts, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.
