Adopting companionship in commitment is not sufficient; rather, a methodology and principle are necessary

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Some young people, when they commit and follow the path of guidance, do not adopt a methodology and principle to follow; rather, they are content with adopting companionship. If a circumstance arises that separates them from this companionship, their commitment may weaken, and it may cause them a relapse.

This person says: Indeed, some young people commit and become upright because they are with a committed and upright companionship. If Allah wills that they part from them, their uprightness and commitment weaken. So we say to him: This is correct. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: (The example of a good companion is like the carrier of musk: either he gives you some, or he sells some to you, or you find a pleasant scent from him) But it is obligatory for a person to commit with the committed for the sake of Allah the Exalted, not merely because he is a companion of the committed, so that this becomes a methodology for him and he remains upright upon it even after parting from them. And for this reason we say: We always ask: if the committed agree to fast, for example, on Monday or Thursday, and break their fast together, we say: Do not do this. First: because this resembles the Sufi method, where they perform takbir in congregation and recite dhikr in congregation.

And secondly: It leads to the fact that if a person parts from these people, he may not fast, because he did not fast except to follow them or agree with them.
Yes, if they fast without agreement, there is nothing wrong with it.
We ask Allah to increase us in beneficial knowledge. And I inform my brothers who come that they have taken a path seeking knowledge. And whoever takes a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.
