Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And the forerunners, the forerunners)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Waqi'ah: 10] These are the last of the categories,And his statement: The most correct grammatical analysis of it is that His saying: (the forerunners) is the subject, and its predicate is (the forerunners), meaning: that those who are forerunners to righteous deeds are the forerunners to the reward in the Hereafter,So it is as if He said: The forerunners are the forerunners; the forerunners in this world by righteous deeds are the forerunners in the Hereafter by reward [Surah al-Waqi'ah: 11] Those brought near to Allah the Exalted, so they are in the highest of the gardens, and the highest of the gardens is closest to the Most Merciful, the Exalted; for al-Firdaws, which is the highest rank of Paradise, has the Throne of Allah the Exalted above it,So His saying: (Those brought near) meaning: to Allah the Exalted (Those are the ones brought near) to Allah in the Gardens of Pleasure, so He mentioned their abode before mentioning their rank,And as it is said: The neighbor before the house,And as He said regarding the wife of Pharaoh: [Surah al-Tahrim: 11] (with You) She began with the nearness,And here he said: before beginning to mention the reward; for their nearness to Allah the Exalted is above everything. May Allah make us and you among them.
