The Prayer for Rain: Is the Sermon Before the Prayer or After It, and Is It Required to Be Two Sermons?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is the sermon for the prayer for rain before the prayer or after it? And is it required to be two sermons?

The Shaykh : Yes. The prayer for rain is performed exactly like the festival prayer. When the imam arrives, he prays, and when he finishes, he delivers one sermon without adding anything, supplicating to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) with what was reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If he does not know it, he supplicates to Allah with the supplication he knows: "O Allah, send us rain, O Allah, send us abundant rain," and the like. The important point is that the prayer for rain is like the festival prayer: two rak'ahs with the additional takbirs, and the rest of the description of the prayer, followed by one sermon after the prayer. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
