That she is suffering from a heart condition and did not fast for four Ramadans, and when the fifth year came, she forced herself to fast even though the doctors had forbidden her from fasting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : She says that she is suffering from a heart condition and did not fast for four Ramadans, and when the fifth year came, she forced herself to fast even though the doctors had told her: "Do not fast." She says that she is an orphan and very poor, and she is unable to feed [the poor] and unable to fast given her circumstances. Is fasting dropped from her, and is the expiation dropped from her?

The Shaykh : Yes. Fasting is dropped from her due to her inability to perform it, and her illness is not expected to be cured, so that we would say: wait until she recovers. Feeding [the poor] is also dropped from her due to her inability to do so, based on the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
So fear Allah as much as you are able فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
and His saying, Blessed and Exalted is He, when He mentioned fasting:
Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]
and His saying, the Exalted:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity لا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. The questioner Abu Ahmad says.
