Is it wrong to leave off wiping over the socks out of fear of confusion, and if a man does not know the conditions of wiping over the leather socks and makes mistakes in it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: May the Shaykh be respected, my fear is that I do not know the conditions of wiping over the leather socks, and sometimes I make some mistakes, and I pray after the time limit has ended, while I believe and hold the conviction that wiping over them is permissible. So I started leaving wearing the two socks or leaving wiping over them. Is there a clear error in my action? I ask you to clarify the matter for me. May Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : Yes, there is a clear error in this. If a person were to leave off an act of worship because he is confused about it, we would say: if you are making mistakes in your prayer, what then? Leave the prayer, do not pray. So my advice to this brother and those like him is to follow the Sunnah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to al-Mughirah:
Leave them دعهما
and he wiped over them. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
You must therefore follow my sunna and that of the rightly guided Caliphs عليكم بسنتي وسنة الخلفاء الراشدين المهدين من بعدي
Mishkat al-Masabih 165Sahīh (Zubair `Aliza'i)
. But you can lighten the matter by wearing them for the Fajr prayer and taking them off when you go to sleep. In that case, there will be no confusion for you, because if you wear them at the time of Fajr prayer and wipe over them when you go to sleep, you will not complete the time limit, and you will not make a mistake. You will sleep with your feet uncovered and you will be at rest.
