First: A number of young men are currently purchasing cars at the highest prices on credit, even though they have not performed Hajj. They take them on installments and are able to sell them, pay off these installments, and perform Hajj. However, they make this an excuse and a barrier against Hajj, not knowing that it may become their grave. What is the ruling on this action?

The Shaykh : I see that it is obligatory for a sane person, if he has money that allows him to buy a car that meets his needs and perform Hajj with the rest, that he must do so. It is not permissible for him to buy something at a high price, nor is it permissible for him to buy something at a high price and leave off Hajj, because he is wealthy and able to perform Hajj. For example, the car he buys for fifty thousand.
