The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger. May Allah reward our father and our shaykh with the best reward for these reminders.
He says: Your Excellency, I pay salaries to more than nine hundred employees, and their salaries include halalas. At the beginning, I paid one riyal for anything over fifty halalas, and I did not pay anything for amounts below that. After a period, it seemed to me that I should pay the halalas, but I suffered a lot of hardship and embarrassment with the employees, as most of them leave the halalas and embarrass me in conversation, so I returned to the first method. What is your opinion, Your Excellency?

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
As for if we want to settle accounts and reconcile, it is obligatory to give every person who has a right his right. If someone has forty or fifty halalas, he should be given them, because this is his right. But if he forgives and waives it, there is no harm, because the right is his. And if the matter becomes one of forgiveness, and you round up the fraction or he waives the fraction from the employee, there is nothing wrong with this. So if this method, namely forgiveness, is easier for everyone and none of them has requested reconciliation, there is nothing wrong with it.
