The questioner : He says: I am a young man who memorized the Qur'an when I was ten years old, and I have remained so. Then a time came when I deviated from the straight path and forgot the Qur'an. Now, O Shaykh, I am a repentant person and I do not know what to do. What do you advise me to do? May Allah guide you. I have come from Jeddah to study under your excellence.

And I ask Allah the Exalted to keep you firm upon it. As for forgetting the Qur'an, I think that if you return to memorize it a second time, it will be easy for you. So proceed with it, for Allah the Exalted will help you if He knows from your intention sincerity and pure devotion.
