The saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Does this forgiveness include major sins?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: Your Eminence, at the beginning of the session you mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us that:
Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.
Sahih al-Bukhari 38
Does this include major and minor sins, and the rights of human beings? I ask for details, may Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : The hadith came in a general form:
he will be forgiven his previous sins
Sunan an-Nasa'i 2194Sahih (Darussalam)
However, this generality is specified by other evidence, which is that one must avoid major sins. The evidence is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The five prayers, and from Friday to Friday, and the third is from Ramadan to Ramadan
And by “from Ramadan to Ramadan” he means: its fasting and its standing in prayer.
and Ramadan to Ramadan make atonement for what has happened since the previous one when major sins have been avoided
Mishkat al-Masabih 564
Pay attention!
provided that major sins are avoided
And thus, this generality is specified by the Sunnah through the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
from Ramadhan to Ramadhan are expiations for the (sins) committed in between
Sahih Muslim 233c
What?
provided that major sins are avoided
So do not hope for what is not yours, and do not despair of what is yours. You fasted Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, and you stood in prayer in Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, so rejoice in good. Yes.
