What is the ruling on hiring someone to sing at women's wedding parties?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: What is the ruling on hiring someone to sing at women's wedding parties?

The Shaykh : If the singing is permissible, there is nothing wrong with hiring a woman to sing, but on the condition that the fee is reasonable and appropriate for the work, not as some people do, giving her three thousand or four thousand for one night. Why is that? And if the singing is forbidden, like the singing of wicked women and prostitutes, then it is forbidden, whether for a fee or without a fee. The difference is that permissible singing is a permissible act, and what is permissible, it is permissible to take a fee for it, indeed, what is permissible, it is permissible to take compensation for it. And forbidden singing is forbidden, and if Allah forbids something, He forbids its price. Yes.
