Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: O esteemed Shaykh, who said before turning away or folding his legs, as mentioned in the hadith:
There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him belong the Kingdom and praise, and He has power over everything
Muwatta Malik 20:131
to the end of the hadith, and the other hadith or what was reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
That he used to turn his head after saying: O Allah, You are the Peace
Is this specific to the imam, or to the imam, the follower, and the one praying alone?

The Shaykh : The imam does not remain facing the qiblah except for the duration of seeking forgiveness three times,
O Allah, You are As-Salam, and from you is As-Salam. You are blessed, O One of Magnificence and Generosity.
Sunan Abi Dawud 1512Sahih (Al-Albani)
This is because the followers are bound to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not precede us in departing.
And since they are bound to him, it is not befitting for him to remain and thereby imprison the people. Rather, he should say what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say and then turn away. This is the sunnah (recommended practice) for the imam. As for the follower, if his imam turns away, he may turn away. As for what is mentioned in the hadith:
before folding his legs
the meaning is: that if he says it while in his place, whether he folds his legs following the sunnah like the imam or not, yes.
