If you are close to the mosque and hear the preacher delivering the Friday sermon while you are at home talking to your wife or children, and the imam is delivering the sermon

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: May the Shaykh be respected, if you are close to the mosque and hear the preacher delivering the Friday sermon while you are at home talking to your wife or children, and the imam is delivering the sermon, or if you are close to the mosque on the road and you greet those around you, and you intend to greet him, does the hadith apply to you:
Whoever talks idly has no Friday prayer for him من لغا فلا جمعة له
Musannaf Abd al-Razzaq 4:271
? And do I have to repeat the prayer?

The Shaykh : As for repeating the prayer, there is no need to repeat it. Even if a person speaks inside the mosque while the imam is delivering the sermon, his prayer is valid, but he is deprived of the reward. He is not recorded as having the reward of the one who listened and did not speak. As for his speaking outside the mosque with his family or in the street, if he is hearing the sermon of the imam behind whom he intends to pray, it is not permissible for him, because this is his imam. But if he is hearing the sermon of another mosque he is passing by while the imam is delivering it, there is no blame on him for speaking, and it does not harm him, whether with his family or in the street. Yes.
